Independence Home Care Continues to "Give Back" to the Community with their Family Support GroupsAt​ ​Independence​ ​Home​ ​Care​ ​we​ ​are​ ​always​ ​thinking​ ​about​ ​ways​ ​to​ ​giving​ ​back​ ​to​ ​the community​ ​in​ ​which​ ​we​ ​service.​ ​​ ​After​ ​doing​ ​some​ ​research,​ ​we​ ​realized​ ​many​ ​family members​ ​take​ ​on​ ​the​ ​role​ ​of​ ​a​ ​Caregiver,​ ​finding​ ​not​ ​much​ ​of​ ​a​ ​support​ ​system​ ​and having​ ​to​ ​deal​ ​with​ ​the​ ​stress​ ​on​ ​their​ ​own.​ ​​ ​

We​ ​have​ ​started​ ​volunteering​ ​our​ ​time​ ​at local​ ​rehabilitation,​ ​independent​ ​living​, ​and​ ​assisted​ ​living​ ​communities​ ​within​ ​central New​ ​Jersey​ ​facilitating​ ​family​ ​support​ ​groups.​ ​The​ ​feedback​ ​has​ ​been​ ​very​ ​positive​ ​and family​ ​members​ ​are​ ​walking​ ​away​ ​with​ ​a​ ​sense​ ​of​ ​relief​ ​knowing​ ​they​ ​aren’t​ ​the​ ​only ones​ ​going​ ​through​ ​such​ ​challenges.​ ​​ ​

Being​ ​a​ ​caregiver​ ​to​ ​a​ ​friend​ ​or​ ​family​ ​member can​ ​have​ ​it’s​ ​challenges​ ​and​ ​rewards,​ ​we,​ ​at​ ​Independence​ ​Home​ ​Care​ ​receive​ ​a​ ​great sense​ ​of​ ​accomplishment​ ​being​ ​able​ ​to​ ​help​ ​in​ ​any​ ​way​ ​we​ ​can​ ​when​ ​it​ ​comes​ ​to​ ​taking care​ ​of​ ​a​ ​loved​ ​one.​ ​​
